This is an update on the amended offer of support that we can provide to families during the current national lockdown 2021.
To ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and families, Home-Start Bristol will not be providing face to face support to families at this time, either in their homes or outside. Please bear this mind when making referrals to our service as this will impact on our ability to support some families.
Currently we are providing the support outlined below and would welcome referrals where this would be beneficial to a family with children under the age of 5:
- Telephone/digital befriending and support
- Drop off activity packs and other resources
- Referrals to other services, for example foodbanks, baby bank, benefits advice
- Child development advice and guidance
- Support with setting routines e.g. sleeping, weaning, behaviour
Please note that as a volunteer led service, families referred to us need to be at an appropriate level for a volunteer to support. We therefore may not accept referrals where the needs of the families are too high or too complex for our service, at that point we will contact you for further information. It should also be noted that every family must have given their consent for the referral and be aware of the support we can currently offer – to avoid disappointment.
We will of course keep you updated when the situation changes and please do contact me if you would like any further information.
