Trustees Vacancies

HOME-START BRISTOL (HSB) is recruiting two Trustees to join its current nine-member Trustee Board team. For one of those posts we are looking for someone with a background in Human Resources.

Our charity supports families living within the geographical boundaries of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, who have at least one child under 5 and who are experiencing problems affecting their wellbeing as a family. This support is provided by our trained volunteers (under the guidance of our professional co-ordinators) who visit a family each week, offering support, friendship and practical assistance.

We have a staff of one full-time Manager, seven part-time employees and 76 (as at October 2019) volunteers. The employees are four Co-ordinators, who manage our volunteers, one Early Intervention Worker, who provides rapid and direct response to families, one Family Support Worker and one Administrator.

During 2018/19 we supported 154 families and expect to support at least that number in the next 12 months.

By becoming a Trustee of HSB you will be part of a team helping to make a lasting and positive impact on the development of children and the health and welfare of families.

Trustees are unpaid, but reasonable expenses can be claimed.

Board meetings are held monthly, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday morning at the Greenway Centre Doncaster Road, Southmead Bristol BS10 5PY. Trustees usually take on one or more specific responsibilities and can expect to attend one or more additional meetings each month.

For further details please contact either our Manager, Andrea Priest, (email address [email protected], telephone 0117 950 1170
or our Chair of Trustees, Katherine Martin (email address [email protected], telephone 07891 547624.
